Alex Mashinsky, founder of the collapsed crypto lending platform Celsius Network, received a 12-year prison sentence for fraud in a New York court. Judge John Koeltl imposed concurrent terms of 120 and 144 months, balancing prosecution and defense requests.

Mashinsky misled investors about Celsius’ financial safeguards prior to its 2022 bankruptcy. False claims included regulatory approvals, risk management practices, and personal token transactions while allegedly manipulating markets.
